About Dr. Turner

Leila Turner, a licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND), grew up in Northern California, surrounded by alternative medicine and Redwood trees. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor’s in Biology and Psychology. In 2007, she co-founded the Naturopathic Medical Student Association. Upon graduating from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) in 2007, she was awarded the prestigious SCNM Student Leadership Award and the Daphne Blayden Award in recognition of academic excellence, compassion, and perseverance. 

 

Dr. Turner was awarded a 2-year residency in women’s health and general medicine at SCNM Medical Center. Upon completing her residency in 2009, she joined Naturopathic Specialists, where her private practice thrived for seven years.

She was an Assistant Professor for the Department of Clinical Sciences at SCNM, where she played an integral role in the development of the revised curriculum at SCNM. In 2011 she was also awarded the SCNM Alumni Award. She now serves as adjunct faculty at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine.

 

She is licensed as a general family practitioner and is considered an expert in women’s health. Dr. Turner’s approach with her patients includes a wide spectrum of naturopathic therapeutic modalities, including nutrition, physical medicine, botanicals, and homeopathy. She works with each patient to create an individualized, effective, and realistic treatment plan. She is a dynamic public speaker throughout Arizona, an empowering educator, and a compassionate physician who guides her patients to transform their health.

 

Each patient is treated individually and often prescribed herbs, nutritional supplements, and nutritional and lifestyle counseling. Dr. Turner has extensive training in:

  • Constitutional homeopathy
  • Advanced Endocrinology (serves as the current president for the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Medicine)
  • Advanced hormone replacement therapy
